Thread veins, also known as spider veins or telangiectasias, are small, dilated blood vessels that appear as thin lines or branched webs on the skin. They are usually red, blue, or purple in colour and can be found on the legs, face, chest, or hands. Thread veins are usually smaller than varicose veins and can be seen under the skin without making it bulge out.
During an IPL thread vein removal treatment, light is applied in a series of pulses over the treatment area. The filtered light is readily absorbed by blood vessels. The rapid absorption of light transforms the energy into heat energy, heating up the vessels. The heat then closes off the vessel. Following an IPL thread vein removal treatment, the thread veins clear as they are reabsorbed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion.
Frequency 1-3 treatments every 2 weeks.
Treatment time 15 minutes
Cost £25 per 5cm square area.
Skin tags are usually the same colour as the rest of your skin, or a little darker. They can look like they're hanging off the skin. They do not usually hurt and are normally harmless.
Skin tags often grow where your skin rubs together or where there are folds in your skin.
This means they usually appear:
Skin tags range in size from around 2mm to 5cm. You may get one or you may get a large group of them.
During your cryotherapy treatment, we will apply liquid nitrogen to your skin tag using a special spray pen. You may feel a few seconds of discomfort but not enough to require a local anaesthetic.
The frozen skin of the lesion will turn white before taking one to two minutes to thaw to normal skin temperature. The skin tag will then fall off in a couple of weeks. Depending on the size and thickness of the lesion, we may need to repeat the process once your skin has thawed out.
To protect the treated area, you can apply Vaseline and pat the area dry with a soft towel or tissue if it gets wet. It's important to avoid picking at scabs to reduce the risk of scarring.
If the scab is in a place where it might get rubbed by clothing, you can wear a plaster to protect it
Treatment cost starts from £50 and varies on size.
